The Learning Blanket is a participatory learning experience designed for educators, policymakers, and stakeholders to reflect on social justice and lived experiences within education systems.

Through guided dialogue and co-creation and making, participants collectively build a shared “learning blanket,” using prompts and reflective tools to explore themes of access, privilege, opportunity, and alternative learning pathways. Each contribution becomes a stitched narrative, mapping personal and systemic experiences of education.

The process creates a space for difficult but necessary conversations, encouraging participants to critically examine their own positions within the system while engaging with diverse perspectives.

Complemented by reflection tools such as zines and collaboration sheets, the experience extends beyond the session, serving as both a collective artefact and a prompt for continued dialogue.

By translating abstract discussions on equity into a tangible,

co-created outcome, the experience builds empathy, shared understanding, and new ways of thinking about inclusive education.

Reflection tools

Leveraging my background in facilitating Design thinking sprints and workshops, I created reflection tools, such as zines and collaborative prompt sheets. While participants share their thoughts & education experiences as they weave the blanket, these tools help guide the discussions and extend them beyond the session.
